​Beginnings

Joe Hull has been involved with music for many years.  He started out taking private drum lessons at an early age from Jazz and Rock drummers from the Springfield and Branson area,  and developed a real love for music and percussion.     

 

While in Junior High and High School, he studied with percussionist and educator Carol Helble exclusively.    He was an All-State timpanist in  2003 and 2004.

 

Joe attended college at Missouri Western State University and earned a B.S. in Music Education Degree.  While at Missouri Western, he was involved in Symphonic Winds, MWSU Jazz Ensemble, Percussion Ensemble, Pep Band, Steel Pan Band, and MWSU Orchestra. 

 

During college, Joe was recruited to join the Fountain City Brass Band under the direction of Dr. Joe Parisi (UMKC).  During his time with FCBB he has won solo awards as well as winning the U.S. Open, and NABBA competitions with the band. 

 

Joe is currently the associate band director in Chillicothe Missouri.  There, he teaches 6-8 grade band students and assists at the High School level.

 

He is currently seeking his M.A in conducting at the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg.
